I LOVE my sweet Winnie Rea (‘ray”). She is so smart and cuddly and I love that I’m her person. A local dog trainer said she is “socially savvy” for a puppy – picking up on cues from other dogs. She plays with anyone – dog or human – and is remarkably observant and adaptable.

After I lost my last lab, I knew I had to get a lower shedder. I have people in my life that couldn’t even come to my house for dinner without an asthma attack. I also have aging parents and needed one I could train and trust to be controlled and maybe even one on the smaller side. I was concerned about getting a dog I hadn’t met but I worked with Kristie, letting her know my needs, and she picked out the perfect girl for me.

I would characterize Winnie as a very light shedder – and low dander. My asthmatic god-daughter moved in and has no issues!  Likewise, my friends can enjoy their time at my house without a hint of problems.

Winnie is a gorgeous girl, soft with almost no grooming maintenance. At 9 months now she is 50 pounds (just like Kristi projected!) She is a great companion dog that enjoys any activity but can also just relax. She is very athletic and we continue to train and channel her energies. I just need to keep her in enough chews to keep her out of trouble! LOL!

I wish I understood some of the GSP behaviors as I’ve not had one before – just labs. Like the crouching while playing. I know she wants me to do something – I just don’t know what! I look forward to years of getting to know each other and nurture all her wonderful traits.

I can’t say enough about Kristie and Kevin and how they worked with me to meet my needs and the wonderful dog they paired me with. She is perfect and I love her like crazy.

WOW ! What an amazing and memorable experience. From the moment we arrived the staff made us feel right at home. We meet our guide Nathan and his dogs after a great breakfast and had know idea what was about to happen. The next 3 mornings we watch Nathan and his work those birds. I’m not sure what we enjoyed more watching them work or hearing “ROOSTER” to bust them out of the sky. Great Outfit!! 5 Stars! We will be back

First time pheasant hunting. Went with two friends that were old pros. The accommodations were top notch. The meals were delicious and Kevin, Kristie and Cameron were the friendliest people you could meet. Fall 2020 - Pheasant City Lodge

The six in our party had a great time hunting October 8, 9, & 10th. Cameron our guide was very knowledgeable and introduced us to varied habitat during our hunts. We shot limits each day and then relaxed in the lodge with three meals a day cooked by the owner Christie. The downtime was spend with target practice, watching ball games in the huge den and sharing stories with fellow hunters from all over the United States. I give this operation a five star rating and we will come back again next year and introduce others to the experience.

This was our first time hunting pheasant and we weren't sure what to expect,but what a great experience we had!

The lodge and accomodations were just like home.Kristie welcomed us like family and she cooked wonderful meals before and after the hunts!

Cameron was a great guide. A knowlegable and friendly guy, he put us in birds and we limited out both days.The birds did their part as well-flying fast and far.Individual shooting experience didn'tt matter,Cameron kept us on birds giving us plenty of opportunity. I highly recommend Pheasant City Lodge for your next trip!

I just wanted to let everyone know about the wonderful experience that I had with my father on my trip to Pheasant City Lodge. We had talked for years about taking a trip up to SD to hunt Pheasants but always found some reason not to, after the great experience we had my only regret is why did we wait so long. We had a great time and saw a ton of birds. Kevin and Kristie has a wide variety of cover and a lot of it...everything from food plots to grass to trees and everything in-between! I especially appreciated the ability to hunt over my own dogs and follow them around rather than walk in a line with a large group. Pheasant City is a top-notch, professional lodge in a great lakefront setting. If South Dakota DNR would sell me a non-resident waterfowl permit, I would love to come back and duck/goose hunt the ponds, fields, and lakes that are near the lodge. Also, seeing the pups was fun, and we came close to bringing one home with us!
